Michael Vick likely making last start for the Eagles

Michael Vick likely making last start for the Eagles

Michael Vick’s 2012 season appeared done just a week ago, but funny things happen in the NFL. Rookie QB Nick Foles broke his hand and Vick was named as the starter for the Eagles season finale. Not only is Vick making the last regular season start for the Philadelphia Eagles, he’s likely making his last start as a member of the Eagles.

An unnamed source told the Philadelphia Inquirer in recent days that Vick is unwilling to renegotiate his contract for next season. Given the wholesale changes which are anticipated in Philadelphia heading into next season, the Eagles will likely be releasing the veteran quarterback. Vick has a $15.5 million dollar salary for 2013 but the Eagles do have a three day window after the Super Bowl to release him and be free of any guaranteed money due for next season.
