MLB Rumors: Tampa Bay Rays Sign David Price To Avoid Salary Arbitration

The Tampa Bay rays have avoided arbitration with the reigning American League Cy Young Award winner, reaching an agreement on a one year deal worth $10 million with David Price. While still a bargain considering his talent, it will still be quite a bump in salary for Price, who earned just over $4.3 million for the 2012 season, one in which he captured his first Cy Young award.

Price finished last season with a record of 20-5 with an ERA of 2.56 to narrowly edge out Detroit Tigers ace Justin Verlander, who was seeking his second consecutive Cy Young award.
