Despite interviewing with two NFL teams and with potential interest from other clubs with coaching vacancies, Bill O’Brien has reportedly decided to remain as the head coach at Penn State University. O’Brien led the surprising Nittany Lions to a 8-4 season despite losing several key players and playing amid the troubles surrounding the football program. He joined the university as the replacement for Joe Paterno last season after leaving his NFL job as offensive coordinator of the New England Patriots.
O’Brien met with the Cleveland Browns and the Philadelphia Eagles prior to making his decision to remain with Penn State. CBS Sports reported earlier in the week that the San Diego Chargers as well as the Arizona Cardinals were interested in speaking with O’Brien as well.
