The San Diego Chargers decided to clean house after another disappointing regular season. Head coach Norv Turner and general manager A.J. Smith were both dismissed after the end of the regular season. The team decided that it would first focus on hiring a new general manager before filling the head coach vacancy. On Wednesday, the announced they have hired a new general manager, Tom Telesco.

It was believed that the Chargers could have promoted Jimmy Raye, the team’s director of player personnel to the top spot, but instead opted to go with Telesco after interviewing him twice.
