The Arizona Diamondbacks have traded Justin Upton to the Atlanta Braves, reuniting the outfielder with his older brother, B.J., who the Braves signed earlier this offseason. While the specifics are still being finalized, as well as all players being subjected to first passing a physical, the deal is all but done.
The Diamondbacks will send Upton and Chris Johnson to the Braves in exchange for Martin Prado, Randall Delgado, Zeke Spruill, Nick Ahmed and perhaps Brandon Drury. Prado will likely serve as the third baseman on Opening Day for Arizona, while Delgado and Spruill are top pitching prospects. Ahmed is a young shortstop who plays a strong infield, while Drury is a third baseman.
