When the Jacksonville Jaguars changed their coaching staff last month, there was immediate speculation that one of the biggest needs for the team was at the quarterback position. On Friday however, it was learned that the Jacksonville Jaguars will now build around a quarterback currently on their roster, Blaine Gabbert. Gabbert finished the season on the team’s injured reserve list.
Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell told the Florida Times-Union that he intends to stick with Gabbert, who is entering his third year in the league. Caldwell also told the newspaper that he doesn’t envision the Jaguars being major players in the free agency process, opting instead to rebuild the team through the draft process.
