Rams interview Mike Singletary for DC position

It was announced last night that the St. Louis Rams have interviewed for San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Singletary for the open position of defensive coordinator. Last season, Singletary was a member of the Minnesota Vikings coaching staff, filling the role of special assistant to the head coach. He was reunited with his former Chicago Bears teammate, Leslie Frazier on the Vikings staff.

The St. Louis Rams had interviewed and were believed to have hired former Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan last week. At the last minute however, talks between the two sides broke down over a disagreement in philosophy and the two sides parted ways. It was announced this morning that Ryan has been hired as the defensive coordinator for the New Orleans Saints, joining head coach Sean Payton as the team moves to a 3-4 defensive alignment.
