Eagles sign Dennis Dixon to 2-year contract

In a move that was speculated prior to the Super Bowl, the Philadelphia Eagles have announced this afternoon that they have signed former Oregon quarterback Dennis Dixon to a two-year contract. While I don’t expect Dixon to challenge Michael Vick for the starting job, I would expect him to fill the role of a player/coach on the roster due to his familiarity with the Chip Kelly offense.

This signing, along with the Michael Vick signing now brings serious doubts to the future of Nick Foles in Philadelphia next season. Foles was never projected as a quarterback that fit even a modified Chip Kelly offense but he might be appealing to the Kansas City Chiefs and the head coach that drafted him, Andy Reid.
