Who would buy Curt Schilling’s bloody sock for $92,000?

People collect some strange things and from time to time, those same people will pay a lot of money for those items. Saturday night was one of those occasions. Heritage Auctions held an event Saturday night which featured the bloody sock that Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling wore in Game 2 of the 2004 St. Louis Cardinals. The auction featured several sports related items but perhaps the bloody sock was one of the strangest.

Schilling had donated the sock to the Baseball Hall of Fame but was forced to sell the item in an auction after losing his baseball earnings in a failed business venture.
