With the 2013 Masters Tournament less than two days away from teeing off, Tiger Woods has been set as the favorite to win the Green Jacket at Augusta. In the midst of a career resurgence, Woods is currently an overwhelming 5-2 favorite to capture his fifth Masters Tournament. Rory McIlroy, coming off his best tournament of 2013 with a second place finish in last weekend’s Texas Open, is the next odds-on-favorite at 8-1. Another classic rival of Woods’ – Phil Mickelson – is third at 10-1.
It comes as no surprise to see Woods as a heavy favorite, as he has been near the top of most odds of majors for years now. Keep in mind, that was when he was not playing anywhere near as well as he has as of late. This time, at least it makes sense. Woods is looking to win his fifth Masters Championship and Green Jacket at Augusta, which would put him just one behind Jack Nicklaus, who won the tournament six times. Woods is looking for his first win here since 2005.
