The Toronto Blue Jays were the undisputed ‘winners’ of the past MLB offseason, landing star players including Jose Reyes, R.A. Dickey, Josh Johnson, Mark Buehrle and countless others in multiple acquisitions. They were picked by many to sit atop the American League East by the end of the 2013 MLB season. Almost six weeks into the year, the Jays find themselves in last place in the division, staring up at a team who was not expected to compete for a division crown this soon, the Boston Red Sox. Call it a coincidence, but could that have something to do with the cheating allegations issued by Toronto broadcasters Jack Morris and Dirk Hayhurst?
Morris and Hayhurst accused Buchholz of cheating by using some sort of substance to allow him the capability of throwing something similar to a spitball. They even referenced the old Major League movies while going as far as questioning why Buchholz was all of a sudden having his best season of his career.
