The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made a calculated risk this offseason by trading for superstar cornerback Darrelle Revis. When healthy, Revis is considered the best player at his position in the league, but he is coming off an ACL injury so the trade didn’t come without risk for the Buccaneers. Rumored for weeks, the Buccaneers and Jets pulled off the trade shortly before the 2013 NFL Draft after Revis was examined by the Buccaneers medical staff.
Revis has told reporters that his rehab has been progressing as expected and now the Buccaneers appear confident that the All-Pro corner will be on the field for Week One. Ironically, Tampa Bay opens it’s season against the New York Jets. This will be the Buccaneers first trip to MetLife Stadium but the franchise has never won on the road against the Giants or Jets in New York.
