Today the New York Islanders split the team into two squads taking 26 players with them on the NHL squad practice. Though no official cuts have been announced this in an indication of what the final roster might look like.

The Islanders took 15 forwards: Moulson, Tavares, Bouchard, Bailey, Nielsen, Okposo, Grabner, Regin, Martin, Cizikas, McDonald, Boulton, Strome, Nelson and Sundstrom, 8 defensemen: Hamonic, Visnovsky, Hickey, Strait, MacDonald, Donovan, Reinhart and Carkner, 2 Goalies: Nabokov and Poulin, and Cal Clutterbuck who is listed as injured
There are some notable omissions from the 26 on the NHL practice are camp invitee Radek Martinek, Anders Lee, Anders Nilsson, former first-rounder Calvin de Hann and maybe most interesting defenseman Joe Finley. Finley has NHL contract which means if does not make the NHL team he will have to pass through waivers if the Islanders wish to keep Finley.
