The first quarter of the 2013 NFL season is in the books, with many surprising twists and turns. Entering Week 5 of the NFL season, five teams remain undefeated, while four teams are still winless. The New England Patriots continue to be disrespected across the league and in the lines, despite somehow getting off to a 4-0 start without a few key pieces on offense, while the New York Giants sit at 0-4 and could be the worst team in the league. That is, unless you listen to Ben Roethlisberger, who says that his Pittsburgh Steelers are the worst team in the NFL right now.
But, according to Vegas, none of that means a thing when setting the lines for Week 5. The Patriots are undefeated. The Giants are winless. Would you like to take a guess as to which team is a favorite this weekend and which one is an underdog?
This is the NFL, so the right thing is rarely the one that makes sense.
Yes, the Patriots are currently a 1 point underdog on the road against the 2-2 Cincinnati Bengals. The Giants are a 2.5 point favorite at home against the 1-3 Philadelphia Eagles. Those, however, may not be the only spreads that come as a surprise to football fans looking to place a ‘friendly’ wager this weekend. Here is a look at all of the NFL Week 5 spreads, with the home team in CAPS. I will also give all of my NFL Week 5 picks along with each game.
