NFL Rumors: Do Not Expect To See Minnesota Vikings Trade Adrian Peterson

On Thursday, Tom Powers of the St. Paul Pioneer Press suggested that the Minnesota Vikings trade Adrian Peterson. He made the point that the team is not winning with Peterson, and that the All=Pro running back is wasting the prime of his career in Minnesota on a losing team. After all, the Cleveland Browns were able to land a first round pick for Trent Richardson from the Indianapolis Colts, and T-Rich and All-Day are barely even in the same league. Of course, many references to the Dallas Cowboys’ famed trade of Herschel Walker to the Vikings back in 1989 were also made. That deal returned draft picks to Dallas that the team turned into players such as Emmitt Smith and Darren Woodson; players who helped turn around one of the worst current franchises into a dynasty. Could the Vikings be considering something similar by trading Peterson for a haul of draft picks that could lead to a turnaround in the Twin Cities, perhaps netting players such as Teddy Bridgewater or Marcus Mariota in the future to lead the Vikes to glory?
