New York Mets vs. Chicago Cubs

Post Game Recap

Winning Pitcher: Justin Grimm (2-2, 3.29 ERA)

Losing Pitcher: Vic Black (1-1, 1.17 ERA)

Save: Neil Ramirez (1, 0.68 ERA)

The Mets once again struggled to hit with runners in scoring position and on base in general, as they were swept by the Cubs for the first time since 2004. This is the first series sweep of the season for Cubs, who came into the series with the worst record in the National League. All of the momentum that the Mets had built taking four of five games from the Philadelphia Phillies last weekend is out the window, as they performed poorly against the Cubs. Some players were quoted as saying the team was tired, but they didn’t perform anywhere near the level they are capable of.
