After the first wave of OTA's, one of the Philadelphia Eagles’ newest wide receivers is receiving some serious buzz. Fast on the heels of losing playmaker Desean Jackson, 2nd round steal Jordan Matthews looks to be the next big thing. And for a fan base that nearly killed Santa in 1968 for not being legit (look it up), it’s just about the best news they could hope to hear.
Jimmy Kempski (of Philly.com) took to social media Tuesday and had this to say about Philly’s up-and-comer: “…Jordan Matthews has looked like the best WR on the team, in my opinion, and it hasn’t been close.” High praise for someone playing on such a high-powered offense. Jeremy Maclin, before his ACL tear, was always a solid receiver for the Eagles. Riley Cooper is coming off his only impressive season so far, but it was an impressive season nonetheless. Can Jordan Matthews take the No. 2 spot away from Cooper? No way to really know until Week 1, but it may be safe to assume that Philly has found its slot guy.
