The New York Yankees, with the loss of Masahiro Tanaka for at least six weeks, have made a trade with the Oakland Athletics to acquire veteran Jeff Francis and cash for a player to be named later.
Brian Cashman is certainly searching the bottom of the barrel right now trying to find some arms to help the Yankees, as they are treading water right now. Francis struggled in Oakland with a 0-1 record and an ERA of 6.18 in 13.1 innings. In his career, Francis has a 70-80 record with an ERA of 4.95 with 10 MLB teams, so not much can be expected from him.
