New York Yankees Weekend Recap: August 1st-3rd: Showdown in Beantown

With the trade deadline come on gone, the Yankees new and old traveled to Boston for a three-game weekend showdown against the Red Sox. Friday night saw a tight 4-3 Boston win. Chris Capuano started for the Yanks, and didn't fare too well against his former team giving up 4 runs in 6 1/3 innings. This was the game scheduled to be started by John Lackey, but he was traded to the Cardinals. In his place Anthony Ranaudo, the 6th ranked prospect in the Red Sox system. Ranaudo in his 6 innings of work allowed just 4 hits and 2 runs. Dustin Pedroia, David Ortiz and David Ross has the Red Sox RBI's. As for the Yankees, while new acquisitions Stephen Drew and Martin Prado went 0-6, while homering for the Yankees were Carlos Beltran and Derek Jeter (only Derek's 3rd HR of the year)
