The New York Knicks made another addition to their coaching staff earlier this week, as they named Jim Cleamons an assistant coach. Cleamons is a natural choice to join the Knicks staff as he will be reunited with Knicks’ President Phil Jackson.

Cleamons worked as an assistant under Jackson for seven years with the Chicago Bulls and 10 years with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Cleamons will add another veteran presence to the staff of first year head coach Derek Fisher, as he will join another former Jackson assistant in Kurt Rambis. Both Cleamons and Rambis have extensive knowledge of the triangle offense which Fisher is expected to put into place this season.

Cleamons most recently had a job with the Milwaukee Brewers as an assistant to Larry Drew, but became available once Drew was fired and replaced with Jason Kidd this past offseason.
