I've been following professional ice hockey for twenty or so years. Originally from St. Louis, I was uprooted and moved to Atlanta in 1993, which at the time wasn't exactly a hotbed of hockey activity. The Thrashers came about in 1999, though, and I have been going to games since that first 4-1 loss to the Devils. Both of my teams take pride in being scrappy, chippy, blue collar, and a little bit of fun. Hopefully my blog grabs a bit of that.

The Guardian Project Finally Release Blues & Thrashers Guardians

thrashingtheblues.com - Of course, in a bid to make me wait until the very end to see what the Guardians from my two favorite teams were going to look like, they had to lose in every match-up so far. Well, ok, the ...

Ben Eager Suspended Four Games, And I’m Fine With That

www.thrashingtheblues.com - It's come down from the Morality Chair, Colin Campbell, that Ben Eager will be gone for four games. You know what? After the way he's been playing recently (not just last night), and his ignorance in last night's game, I'm ...

I Have To Get This Off Of My Chest

thrashingtheblues.com - I don't call out individual players for things unless they do something outlandishly stupid. I called out Colby Armstrong multiple times last season for questionable hits, cowardly actions on the ice, and his lack of production. Things don't change just ...

Eric Boulton Scores Hat-Trick As Thrashers Freeze Out Devils

www.thrashingtheblues.com - My full-game re-cap's over on SB Nation Atlanta, of course, and it's fairly formal as it should be. Here, however, formality tends to go out the window. So please allow me to say that the Greek Gods are currently probably ...

Devils v. Thrashers: Eric Boulton Scores A Hat Trick As The Thrashers Claim First In The Southeast Division

atlanta.sbnation.com - The Greek Gods reigned supreme tonight. Much attention was given to the return of former Thrasher captain Ilya Kovalchuk, but tonight was not his night. The Thrashers had a crowd of 17,024 to entertain, and they did their job well.

Om nom nom. The Injury Bug Keeps Biting The Blues

thrashingtheblues.com - The St. Louis Blues' franchise best season start seems like a far away, fuzzy memory now. Sure, the team's still well above .500 (15-10-5), but they've gone from having the best point percentage in the leaguge to 10th in the ...

Thrashers Throw Thrash In Jail To Get People To Come To Games

thrashingtheblues.com - As an effect of the poor marketing/too quiet charity work (the guys work their butts off and someone in the Atlanta media can pick this up once in a while) tossed in with the poor hockey that the Thrashers fans ...

The Thrashers Are Not Moving To Quebec. Sorry.

www.thrashingtheblues.com - Let me preface this by saying that I've always thought it appropriate that, when the economy and such is in a better place, that the NHL should expand back into Canada. Quebec and Winnipeg should be at the toppermost of ...

Zach Bogosian Tries To Get P.K. Subban To Man Up

www.thrashingtheblues.com - This is how absolutely hard-headed P.K. Subban is. After getting called out by Mike Richards of the Philadelphia Flyers for having little respect for the older players of the game, Subban seems to have been on a mission to get ...

Is Alex Burmistrov Atlanta’s Answer To David Perron?

www.thrashingtheblues.com - I tend to compare the Thrashers and the Blues quite a bit. Other than the fact that they're my two favorite teams, there have been some shocking similarities over the years: wonky weird goaltending, a solid youth movement, a future ...
