Lester A. Wiltfong Jr.

Lester's passion for writing actually came through music. His initial creative outlet was writing song lyrics, and he's had his songs heard on the FOX sitcoms Titus and Wanda At Large, the talk show The View, in the full length movie Desire Of Innocence, and on the Home Jam segment of Chicago’s #1 radio station WGCI. His songs have been played in several other countries including Spain, France, Australia, and Sweden. Lester has worked with numerous producers through the years, including acclaimed Hollywood music producer Rob Walsh. In 2006 his writing took a turn towards sports, and he eventually became the Official Chicago Bears Blogger of the Sporting News website. It was through that work that that he was hired as a writer and now an editor of Windy City Gridiron in 2009. He can be found writing about sports in a few other places, and occasionally crossing into the entertainment genre on We Got This Covered since March of 2011.

So Mike Martz can still call a good game…

www.windycitygridiron.com - I originally titled this post, Mike Martz; Offensive Genius, but I thought that would be dripping with way too much sarcasm. So anyway... Apparently the game hasn't passed Mike Martz by. He does now how to scale ...

I got your week 6 NFL thoughts right here!

www.windycitygridiron.com - I know it's only week 6, but there were a few turning point moments on Sunday that will set the stage for team's moving forward. A few players really stepped up and answered some questions about their play. ...

Still no NFL Network on Time Warner Cable

wegotthiscovered.com - It’s a sad day for NFL fans that are subscribers to Time Warner Cable; i.e. me. According to the Sports Business Journal the negotiations between the NFL Network and Time Warner Cable are over, and most likely done ...

Bears head coach Lovie Smith is faithful to a fault

wegotthiscovered.com - I’m not just fed up with the short yardage failings, but also the challenge flag blunders. I’m still not sure if Lovie is trying to show he believes in his guys when he blindly throws the red challenge flag, ...

Bears Sackwatch 2011: Chicago @ Detroit Week 5

www.windycitygridiron.com - Disgust. That word sums up my feeling as the Monday Night Game wore on. I usually try and keep an even keel when I write, but this week some anger came out. The pass protection continues to ...

Breaking down Detroit’s Wide 9 defense against the Bears

www.windycitygridiron.com - In the Monday Night game you heard the commentators refer to the Wide 9 Defense of the Detroit Lions. It's a defense that tries to shrink the field by aligning the defensive ends far outside in the 9 technique ...

Chicago Bears Game Ball of the Week: Mike Martz

www.windycitygridiron.com - I feel the game ball should be given to the coach or player that pulled off their responsibilities without a hitch. The game ball should go to the player or coach that had flawless execution on Monday Night. ...

Jerry Angelo should be through as Bears GM

www.windycitygridiron.com - I don't see any diamonds in the rough when I look over the Bears roster. In fact I only see a handful of players that could start for either the undefeated Packers or undefeated Lions. Both are simply ...

I got your NFL Week 5 thoughts right here!

www.windycitygridiron.com - Week five in the NFL is nearly in the books and were continuing to see offenses explode. Or is it defenses break down? Either way it's exciting football. If this is an aftereffect of the lockout and ...

Bears Sackwatch 2011: Chicago vs. Panthers Week 4

www.windycitygridiron.com - It makes for an easier Sackwatch post when Mike Martz only calls 17 pass plays. The Bears only gave up one sack against the Panthers (woo hoo!), but I wasn't overly impressed with the pass protection. Stop by ...
